  14. Children are attracted by computers as if by magic. Though strange and 
  15. suspicious to many adults, to children these modern aids are as natural as 
  16. the telephone and the TV. Just the fact that mom and dad use it excites 
  17. the curiosity of the child.

  19. Often the computer is unjustly condemned as being a cause for 
  20. children's isolation, lack of creativity, increasing propensity for 
  21. violence, etc. This is not necessarily so. If the computer is used the 
  22. right way, i.e. with the appropriate software and under the control 
  23. of the parents, it can help to encourage creativity and communication 
  24. skills.

  26. ABC-WARE is software for children.* Under this name programs are 
  27. developed which do not contain violence and have no racist or other 
  28. content which is liable to corrupt the young. Here you will not find 
  29. any shoot-'em-up games.

  31. ABC-WARE stimulates children's creativity and their intellectual and 
  32. logical capacities.  It supports the imagination of your child, and, in an 
  33. enjoyable and playful way, allows him or her to practise simple tasks 
  34. such as reading, arithmetic, etc., either alone or together with children 
  35. of the same age or even with the whole family.

  38. way. Pay attention to ABC-WARE when buying software. This ensures that 
  39. you always choose the right software.

  54. Start the installation by typing

  56.             abcsetup
  57.  
  58. The installation program will ask you which directory MaTris shall 
  59. be installed in. You can either accept the default directory or enter a 
  60. directory of your choice. If the directory does not exist already, it 
  61. will be created by the installation program.
  62.  
  63. After the installation, your target directory has to contain the following 
  64. files:

  68.         MaTris.exe       main program
  69.         MaTris.hlp       help file
  70.         MaTris.cnt       help contents file

  75.                         separately with online versions)

  77. Attention: This file may also be used by other programs! If you 
  78. want to uninstall MaTris for any reason, make sure that no other 
  79. programs use this runtime module before you delete it!

  81. A program group will be created and the icons for MaTris will be added 
  82. automatically.
